Early Morning Birders
Minnewaska State Park Preserve, New Paltz
Designed for birding enthusiasts or those just looking to learn the basics, this series will offer various outings led by experienced birding volunteers and park naturalists. Participants will meet at the main Park entrance every Tuesday morning. In April, May, September and October, outings will begin at 8:00 a.m. and in June, July and August outings will begin at 7:00 a.m. Participants should come prepared with binoculars and a field guide. Mid-Hudson Children's Museum Full Day Summer Camp: Tween Train Travelers
75 N. Water Street, Poughkeepsie
Museum educator, Lisa DiMarzo, and museum staff will take the campers to ride the rails and discover new and exciting destinations along the Hudson River. Each day, campers will get on the Metro North train for an excursion away from Poughkeepsie to places like Dia: Beacon, the Hudson River Museum in Yonkers and Wave Hill in Riverdale. Ages 9 - 11. Children will meet at the museum in the morning and return to the museum for pick-up each day. Campers must bring lunch, drinks, and snacks. Campers are responsible for all of their belongings. Life Drawing Sessions
Unison Art Center, 68 Mountain Rest Rd., New Paltz
Unison offers a life-drawing session every Tuesday and Thursday to give professional artists and students an opportunity to work with experienced models under controlled lighting. There is no instruction. Tuesday sessions are dedicated to shorter poses of 1 to 30 minutes. On Thursdays there will be one 2-hour pose for those wanting to do more highly-resolved drawing or painting. $36 members, $48 non-members for a series of 4 sessions.
