Mohonk Preserve Singles and Sociables Hike
Old Minnewaska Trail Loop
Meet at the Mohonk Preserve Visitor Center. This is a moderate, 7-mile hike, led by John Upton (229-6217). Singles and Sociables outings welcome all adult hikers, single and non-single, aged 18 and above. No reservations required - just come to the location listed at the time indicated. New hikers are strongly encouraged to contact the leader prior to the hike. Hike leaders determine whether or not to allow pets. Free to Mohonk Preserve members and $10 for non-members (includes a day pass which allows hiking access to Preserve lands for a full day, sunrise to sunset, and can be credited for up to two weeks towards a membership).

Mohonk Preserve - Owl Pellet Workshop for Families
Join Gayle Turowski, Mohonk Preserve Volunteer, and bring the whole family for an exciting hands-on experience. Learn all about owls and then unravel the mystery of what they eat by examining bones and other prey remains in their pellets. Ages 7 and up are welcome. Children must always be accompanied by an adult. This is an indoor program. Reservations are required; sign up begins 11/23/09. Call 845-255-0919 for reservations and meeting location. There is a materials fee for this program: $8 for Mohonk Preserve member families and $18 for non-member families.

Shawangunk Wine Trail

Three Wishes & A Holiday Fantasy with Spring Valley Puppet Theater

Ages 5 and up. What would you do if a magical Elf gave you three wishes? That's just what happens to Henry and Gretchen in this puppet production of "The Three Wishes." This folktale favorite is flavored with a dash of dialogue, a generous helping of humor and the twists of plot for which the Spring Valley Puppet Theater is known. Enchanted toys, fairy magic and a clever mouse are just some of the surprises in "A Holiday Fantasy", an original puppet production by Michael Graham's Spring Valley Puppet Theater.
