What is the benefit of the CertifiChecks program?
The CertifiChecks program provides merchant members a tangible benefit that drives business to their locations, promotes shopping locally, and keeps more dollars in the community. The program provides area companies with a wonderful gift-giving alternative for rewarding employees or thanking customers and suppliers. CertifiChecks can be used just like cash, making CertifiChecks an ideal gift for even the most hard-to-please people.
How are CertifiChecks used?
CertifiChecks are used just like cash - simply present them as payment for products or services at a participating merchant's location. When accepting a CertifiCheck from a customer that is greater than the amount of the item or service, be sure to give change, just as you would do with a travelers’ check or cash.
Businesses redeeming CertifiChecks can treat them the same as travelers' checks; simply deposit them at the bank and instantly receive credit for them.
How do recipients know where to redeem CertifiChecks?
You may view or print a list of participating merchants. Participating merchants also have a decal on display.
What denominations are available?
CertifiChecks come in $5, $10, $25 and $50 denominations.
How are merchants protected against fraud? Can’t someone just photocopy a CertifiCheck?
CertifiChecks have a variety of security features built in to their design. There is heat-sensitive orange text on the back of each certificate that changes color when touched. The borders and background of each certificate have text and gradations imperceptible to color copiers. CertifiCheck Merchant welcome packs include a voided sample CertifiCheck for comparison, and training is available for employees if needed. Additional samples can be picked up from the Chamber offices.
How do merchants sign up if they are not already participating?
Merchants can sign up by emailing Lucy Paradies at the Chamber or by calling her at (845) 255 0243.
How do merchants let customers know they are participating?
Make sure your business is included in the brochure. Then display the decal (additional decals available from the Chamber) prominently in your window. Mention certificates in your publicity and marketing materials.
Can a participating business sell CertifiChecks?
